Finally got an internet connection! Anyway, we left the Marina Puerto Bahia in Samana about 8 PM. Motorsailed out the bay against a steep chop. Turned down the coast & things improved. Ran down to Punta Macao & hung a left toward the top of the Hourglass Shoals, which we cleared about noon. Really had a smooth ride - considering that the Mona Passage has a very bad reputation. Hung a right & headed toward Puerto Rico. Approaching PR, Isla Deschechio was hard to miss:
Anchored in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico at 9:30 PM. Commercial kind of place - not my fave. Good news is we were able to check in by phone using our "Local Boaters Option". Then the Capitan hauled down the Quarentine flag & hoisted the Puerto Rico courtesy flag. Cool, we made it to PR!
:Then it was off to Boqueron - a very cool spot - described as Bohemian in ambiance - a bunch of hippies having a good time:
It was Sunday, & the weekend is wild in Boqueron. The folks all come out. The street vendors are all over. The music is blasting:
Next day we hit the beach, got some rays & relaxed.
Next stop: La Parguera on the South Coast.

Yay! You made it to Puerto Rico all safe and sound! Nice to look at your photos instead of this Blizzard going on outside. Hope those green plantains turned out ok, Marg.
