I thought this was supposed to be a blog about sailing! It's a long story. Basically we're waiting for weather to cross to the Bahamas. We're at Dinner Key Marina in Miami. But it's not just the weather – we're “kinda' doing a shake-down cruise. Our ham radio is not happy with our Pactor modem - & the feelings are mutual. So while we wait for weather, I'm talking with radio gurus by phone all day & having a line isolator & some ferrites “overnighted” to the marina. Hope it helps!
We also forgot a few things back in Naples – like my snow mobile suit - & several of Herm's anchors. Not to worry, our friends Darrell & Margaret in Davie loaned us a truck & off we went. DB even threw in a GPS so we wouldn't get lost navigating the streets of Miami! So we crept stealthily back into our house in Naples, grabbed a few items & hit the road back to Miami before any of our neighbors saw us & freaked out.
Meanwhile, we can't get internet at the marina, so it's off to the library to see if we can upload this blog.
'Till the next WiFi connection!

Very happy to see your blogs. Hope everything works out with the ham radio/modem. Here's to good crossing weather on the horizon. Mary Lou
ReplyDeleteYou guys are really livin' it up with the wide-screen and all! (Looks like you're watchin' the game at Hooters with a brewski!) And now I see you beside the pick-'em-up, solidly on Terra Firma -- I gotta ask - ... or let me say: I wanna see some more photos of oceanscape vistas to convince me you actually are about to sail off the edge. C'mon guys ... this is a sea-cruise; not Bike-week at Daytona!
