So Long Boot Key Harbor

"Hurricane's" is the happening place - at night that is.  It was pretty dead when we had lunch there, but the food was good.  BBQ ribs for moi & chicken wings for the queen - $5 each - what a deal!  Did I say the food was good - let me elaborate - the chicken wings were to die for!!!!
Then it was on to Home Depot - the queen has never been happy with our dinghy light.  It's a pretty wimpy mount - see photo below.

So, as I said, it was off to Home Depot.  Buy some PVC & have at it.

Now the finished product - a dinghy light fit for a queen!

Our weather guru says our next shot at crossing is Saturday, Dec 11.  So Biscayne Bay, here we come.  Who knows, we may even bum a ride back to Naples by land to retrive the dozen anchors in our garage that Herm says are absolutely mandatory!

  1. Way to go Uncle Rich, you're livin the dream! But what is this about a flight back to Naples?! You have left home sir and there's no turning back now. In my opinion, a plane ride at this point would ruin the mystique of your journey. Just sayin... Have a good one you two! Bill Jr.

  2. We're happy to hear you'll be crossing the Gulf Stream the same day (12/11), we cross from Ft. Lauderdale. Hope to see you in Princess Key on 12/17. Stef says: The Queen is doing so much work she deserves a day at the best spa in the Bahamas.
    Cheers, Stef & Jim

  3. Rich! Thanks for the recent posts. I'm up to date with you through "Hurricane's" and The Home Depot. Great photos of you both! What a life. I can just sense the stress you must endure deciding what type of PVC's required for the job! Meantime stay safe. Here's to an uneventful crossing./ Bro. Bill
